Nearby Activities:
Pueblo Mascarat has two communal swimming pools and tennis courts for inhabitants of the complex, both of which are a minute or two’s walk from the apartment door and seldom busy at any time of year.
There are two secluded pebble beaches immediately below the Mascarat cliffs. At time of writing (July 2005) building work has made access by car more difficult but both are walkable, although the path to the northern beach is steep.
The nearest sand beaches are at Calpe (5km / 3 miles) and Benidorm (25km / 15.5 miles). These are both busy from April to October. Altea’s beach is predominantly pebble but during summer the local authority create a small sand area on it.
There are good restaurants and bars in the Marina, visible from the apartment and a few minutes walk away, all of which are open in summer. Altea (7km / 4.5 miles) has a wide selection and a large number of restaurants, both along the sea front and in the old town. The Restaurante des Artistes in the church square and Oscars a little further down the hill are highly recommended, as is Gula Gula on the sea front.
The nightlife is particularly good in summer in Altea (renowned for it’s late night art stalls in the alleyways), Calpe, and of course, Benidorm.
Altea features high quality antique, clothes and furniture stores. There is a large shopping mall outside Benidorm at La Marina, just off junction 65A of the motorway. This is also the location for the Carrefour hypermarket. More locally, the Planesia supermarket on the main Altea to Calpe road (3km / 1.5 miles) sells nearly all the day to day items you’re likely to need.
Swimming pools, changing facilities and eating facilities at the nearby Altea Hills resort (3km / 2 miles) are available to apartment owners with an entry card. This can be supplied on request. |
